Bulk bag purchasing

Valve and Controlled-Discharge Bulk Bags

For controlled powder discharge, begin with the connection at your hopper. Relia’s catalog includes valve bulk bags. A plain tie-off spout may fit a simple emptying routine, while a valve proposal needs an agreed connection, shutoff method and trial. Share your powder, clamp or mating dimensions, and how frequently operators must stop and restart the flow.

Two Discharge Routines

A complete discharge and a partial draw have different acceptance points. Show each routine so the sample trial includes interruption, access and any later restart.

Manufacturing checks for this specification

Relia’s catalog shows cutting and sewn FIBC assembly. In a discharge design, cut geometry and the seam joining the outlet to the base control outlet location. The film outlet and attachment method need their own dimensions. A valve, adapter or clamp should appear separately in the scope so it is clear who supplies and verifies each part.

  1. 01Dimension the outlet
  2. 02Review the mating parts
  3. 03Trial stop and restart

Use comparable material and filled mass for trial runs. Record initial flow, leakage at the interface, shutoff performance, restart and retained powder. Record the release sequence and cleanup access under your site procedure. If a closed transfer system is required, set acceptance at the full connected assembly.

A Defined Hopper Connection

Send the mating surface, fixing method and access clearance. Ask for an interface drawing showing where the bag outlet ends and the equipment begins.

Specify a plain outlet and valve assembly separately

The IMPQ04503 U-panel listing has a form-fit PE liner, top and bottom spouts and side-seam loops. Use it to discuss bag and liner geometry. A controlled-flow valve requires its own mating dimensions, closure arrangement and trial criteria.

Define the fill mass at the start, expected feed-rate band, stop point, permitted dribble and residual quantity after disconnect. Run the comparison with your powder at an agreed moisture condition so the observed behavior can be traced to the assembly.

A Valve and a Plain Spout

Compare the control features against a plain spout on your line. Our form-fit liner product is a bag and liner reference for geometry, with the valve as a separately reviewed option.

Procurement step 04

Flow and Shutoff During a Sample Run

Agree the powder properties and target feed range. Use the same material to check flow consistency, shutoff behavior and product remaining at the interface.

Isolation Between Shifts

Write down how the line is isolated and where a partially full bag stays. Make the closure and restart sequence explicit before adopting it.

Seals and Cleanability

Review contact surfaces and gaps with the line owner. Record visible leakage and retained material after the approved sample trial.

An interface drawing with a clear handoff

Draw the section from woven base to liner outlet to clamp or adapter to hopper. Record which surfaces may touch the powder and which components belong to the line. Include the space operators need to inspect the connection and release it under the site procedure. This helps keep the bag quote, hardware scope and commissioning acceptance aligned. Relia’s IMPQ04503 listing gives a 14 × 19 in C-style discharge spout and a form-fit PE liner as a reference for the plain spout comparison. A valve fitting is a separate quote item.

A Quote with a Defined Scope

Ask for the bag, liner, valve hardware and any spare seals on separate lines. Tie the offer to the selected interface drawing and trial criteria.

Evidence to keep with the order

Document the trial powder and assembly, the hardware supplied by each party, and the accepted shutoff and restart sequence. Ask for the valve or sleeve revision on the order so a different connection cannot be introduced without another fit review.

Related Food Line and Liner Options

For ingredient contact, add a separate review of the closed discharge and product-contact boundaries. For a retained outer bag, start with the liner fitment brief.

Request a Valve Bag Sample

Observe shutoff, restart and residue under the actual material.
